
The article "The myth of the big buyer" by Pedro Amendoeira, partner at ERA Group, argues that buying in large volumes does not in itself guarantee better commercial conditions. Although volume can help, factors such as timing, market knowledge, supplier capacity and the relationship built with the supplier are often more decisive.
The article concludes that, although larger volumes can often lead to better conditions, there are significant exceptions that challenge this myth, emphasising the importance of careful and strategic analysis in purchasing negotiations.
