More efficient purchasing delivers surprising savings on teaching materials and office supplies for ROOS schools
"Are our supplier agreements really as good as they seem?" That was the question Herman Wevers, director of the ROOS Foundation, asked aloud during a cost assessment meeting with Arjan Schoonderwoerd of ERA Group. Schoonderwoerd's purchasing research showed that there was indeed room for improvement. A different approach resulted in substantial cost reductions: 13.7% for teaching materials and 38.1% for office supplies.
