Cologne/Bonn Airport is one of Germany's largest and most important international airports. In 2016, almost 12 million passengers flew through the airport. In addition, 780,000 tonnes of freight were handled. The airport generates annual revenue of almost €320 million, around a third of which comes from non-aviation activities, and made a profit of over €6 million. In order to continue this success story, investments such as those in digitalisation are necessary. In order to be able to make these investments with its own funds, the airport also draws on internal funds generated through cost savings. The airport therefore commissioned Klaus Henning Poot from ERA Group to examine the costs of output management.
