The Biral Group was founded in 1919 as Bieri Pumpenbau AG. The company has established a leading market position in Switzerland with the manufacture of pumps for building services, municipal applications and industry. In 1993, the company was acquired by the Danish pump manufacturer Grundfos in order to secure its high market share in Switzerland. From 1997 onwards, a corporate culture based on the principles of TQM was introduced. The Biral Group has continued to develop since then and is one of the most successful companies in the Grundfos Group. In order to remain one of the top performers in the Grundfos Group, Thomas Klossner, Head of Finance at the Biral Group, commissioned Andreas Bünter from ERA Group to analyse and optimise costs in the area of logistics.
