The Vorwerk & Sohn Group dates back to a ribbon weaving mill registered in the Barmen registry court in 1827. In addition to textile manufacturing, the company began producing rubber at the end of the 19th century. Vorwerk Autotec was founded in 2002 as part of the Vorwerk & Sohn Group with the aim of positioning itself as a specialist in the development and manufacture of innovative and customised elastomer products and rubber-metal parts for the automotive industry. In conjunction with its sister companies, Vorwerk Autotec now supplies automotive manufacturers and suppliers worldwide. In order to analyse its own expenditure structure, Roland Prehm was commissioned by the ERA Group to examine the costs in the area of packaging. Prehm brought in experts Stephan Haasis and Eiko Fischer to work on the project.
