Ana López participated in a panel discussion at the IFAES Finance Meeting, where the panel analyzed how generative artificial intelligence is transforming expense management and the role of finance departments. Alongside other experts, they highlighted its advantages for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and optimizing supplier relationships. The panel was moderated by Mehdi Alaoui, Partner at ERA Group.
In the case of Palibex, López emphasized the importance of well-managed data and the use of tools such as ERP, Power BI, OCR, and Microsoft Copilot to automate processes, improve forecasting, and optimize resources. AI enables the analysis of large volumes of data, demand forecasting, problem anticipation, and better management of risks and liquidity.
Key benefits include the elimination of repetitive tasks, real-time analysis, and improved strategic decision-making. However, he noted that there is still a long way to go and that finance departments must receive training in AI and coordinate with IT to fully leverage its potential.
