In 2017; we continued to help the Dosoudil siblings; after whose brother Toník the foundation is named.
We were delighted to hear about the new job that Ms Tereza Fagulcová got. This has significantly improved the situation of her son Nicolas; a blond little "Forrest Gump".
The good news motivated the board of the Toník Foundation to launch a summer competition to help other children in need. Eight requests for assistance were received; for which Toník would need a total of 215;740 Czech korunas. According to the rules of the competition; the fund supported seven-year-old Žanetka Hrušková; who has cerebral palsy and received the most votes from the public. We contributed 50;000 Czech korunas towards her treatment at a sanatorium in Klimkovice.
Thanks to corporate and individual sponsors; as well as a collection initiated among ERA Group partners at a pan-European conference in Dubrovnik; the fund was able to support one more child – it chose eleven-year-old Petřík Jochec; who has autism and was the outsider in the voting competition due to receiving the fewest votes. Toník contributed CZK 20;000 to his mother for a personal assistant. At the end of the year; Toník contributed a symbolic New Year's contribution of 2;018 CZK to all the "unsuccessful" applicants for support.
Last year; the Toník Endowment Fund collected contributions totalling 142;423 crowns from its supporters and distributed 141;626 crowns to families with children in need.
The most frequent contributors to the endowment fund were ERA Group partners; from whom we received 56% of all income. Another 32% of our resources were provided by ERA headquarters; and 11% of Toník's activities were supported by ERA Group clients. Only one per cent of our income comes from individual donors.
We are grateful for every bit of help in bringing smiles to the faces of children who have been less fortunate in life.
