I was asked this question the other day. I was about to answer when they added: And several with the same provider?
My immediate response was "of course not"... until I remembered once telling my son that I had canceled a channel; and he assured me that he was still watching it on his tablet. Upon investigation; I discovered that we had had two active subscriptions to the same service. I chose not to calculate how many months (years?) we had been like that.

It seems like a small thing. But if you add up months — or years — of unnecessary payments; the amount is enough for a nice dinner... or a large bottle of wine.
This reminded me of a client I worked with a few years ago. When reviewing their telecommunications expenses; we discovered unused lines; duplicate services; and even contracts that had already been canceled but were still being charged. We reduced his expenses by just over 50%.
It happens more often than you might think. People change jobs; and with them goes the knowledge of what needs to be monitored. Customers change; and with them their needs; but sometimes the charges continue as if nothing had happened.
If these overpayments happen at home—where we think we are in control—what might be happening within your company?
