Psychiatric Services Aargau AG (PDAG) provides psychiatric treatment and care, including emergency services and crisis intervention, in the canton of Aargau. Tailored inpatient, outpatient and consultation services determine the type of treatment that is best suited to the individual, their illness and their life situation.
Since 2004, PDAG has been a public limited company owned by the canton of Aargau. Around 1,300 people in over 50 professions work for PDAG. PDAG is a teaching hospital for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich and a training centre for healthcare professions. PDAG's annual operating income is around CHF 150 million.
Thomas Zweifel, Head of Operations at PDAG, commissioned Peter Wälchli from ERA Group to examine the office supplies purchasing area. The aim was to analyse procurement costs, taking into account the processes involved. Peter Wälchli brought in expert Michael Schmidt to assist with the project.
