Swiss Red Cross renews Microsoft licenses and reduces costs
The Swiss Red Cross (SRC) is dedicated to helping particularly vulnerable and disadvantaged people and, unlike any other aid organization, combines a wide range of strengths in the areas of health, integration, and rescue. The SRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, the world’s largest humanitarian aid organization. Depending on the amount of donations received, the SRC’s annual revenue is approximately CHF 120 million. Internal and external oversight bodies ensure that the SRC uses donations effectively and efficiently for social and humanitarian purposes. To ensure the organization operates as cost-efficiently and effectively as possible, Markus Sieber, CFO of the Swiss Red Cross, commissioned Frank Grimmling of ERA Group to examine the costs and structures associated with software licenses. Grimmling brought in experts Raimund Martl and Dietmar Eder-Dianitsch for the project.
