Plumsteadville Inn saved $175,000 over a two-year period and achieved operational efficiencies after partnering with ERA Group.
The client
Plumsteadville Inn is a beloved hospitality destination in Pipersville, Pennsylvania. Established in 1751, the “Plum Inn” offers a warm, family-inspired atmosphere paired with delicious dining and guest accommodations. The Inn has long been a cornerstone of Bucks County, providing memorable experiences for guests of all ages.
The challenge
Under new ownership, the Plumsteadville Inn sought ways to increase net profit and optimize operational margins, especially as they took on new financial responsibilities in running the Inn.
The solution
ERA Group was introduced to the Inn’s owners through a mutual networking contact who had seen ERA’s results at a neighboring Inn. Rather than begin with a formal cost assessment, ERA engaged directly with the owner to identify immediate opportunities. A collaborative discussion revealed five to seven major cost categories ripe for optimization, including food and produce, waste, linen rentals, merchant processing, and operating supplies.
The result
Through ERA Group’s strategic guidance, the Plumsteadville Inn achieved a total of $174,000 in cost savings over 24 months of monitoring. Most savings were retained with incumbent suppliers. New suppliers were implemented for produce and linen rentals.
In addition to cost reduction, ERA’s market insight helped validate the Inn’s insurance coverage, giving the new owner confidence in their broker relationship. These savings have strengthened the Inn’s bottom line, supporting long-term financial stability for the historic establishment.

"As a new business owner, the savings produced as a result of ERA’s review helped to drive bottom-line improvements that will benefit the business well into future years." [MATT GEORGE, OWNER - PLUMSTEADVILLE INN]
