Lynn River Limited saves 35% on international freight

Lynn River Limited, established in 1969, is a 100% New Zealand owned and operated company. It is recognised as New Zealand’s leading specialist glove supplier offering the largest range of gloves to the New Zealand and Australian industrial, meat, fish and food markets as well as rural, gardening and hardware retailers.
They also research, develop and source their own brand of safety protection gear including safety glasses, ear muffs, goggles and respiratory products from their base in Geraldine, South Canterbury.
Lynn River engaged ERA Group to review their international freight expenditure. Based on the findings outlined in our Discovery Report, we sought new market pricing from a wide range of suppliers agreed upon with Lynn River.
As a result of our review, the prices obtained on international forwarding (import sea and airfreight, customs brokerage and export sea and airfreight) were superior to the existing pricing and included enhanced service and quality standards.
The Options were presented to Lynn River who made the decision as to which supplier suited them best. In this case, one of the incumbent suppliers was retained at better prices, resulting in a rationalisation of suppliers which reduced the number of invoices processed.
Overall savings of approximately 35% were achieved on Lynn River’s international freight expenditure along with better service, quality features and greater transparency. ERA facilitated the transition of the business from five different suppliers to one supplier and coordinated the formulation of Service Level Agreements which are monitored and reviewed on a quarterly basis.
