Easyfairs is mainly active in two areas. On the one hand, they rent out event properties. They provide spaces for events, for example. On the other hand, they organise around 30 of their own events and trade fairs in Belgium, and around 230 worldwide. Easyfairs employs 150 people in Belgium and 750 worldwide.
"Easyfairs is a rapidly growing company and, in a growth project, we are mainly active in our core business," says Alain D'Haese, COO & Head of Venues at Easyfairs. "The purchase of specific products or 'common goods', such as photocopiers, is not part of our core business. In general, we pay less attention to cost categories that we know little about and whose contracts are ongoing. When ERA contacted us, we agreed to work together to identify the internal areas in which we did not have specialist purchasing knowledge. We decided to hire ERA to optimise certain categories that cost a lot of money each year and do not need to be renegotiated annually."
