The impact of the new mandatory Danish road toll – What does it mean for you and your business?





So it's here. The infamous kilometre-based road toll. First; it caused gray hairs among transport providers; who have struggled to find a billing model that hits the right note. Now it is transport buyers who are left with the headache – and an extra cost that cannot be overlooked on the first freight invoices for January.
I have been around the market and see the following trends:
EFFECT: Additional cost of 5.3–12%.
Most settle accounts as we know it from German MAUT; but of course with minor differences in the zoning.
EFFECT: 2.8–5.7%.
EFFECT: £0.38 – £0.73 PER PARCEL.
Short answer: No. Transport providers do not dare to run the risk of being left with the bill themselves. Transport buyers are therefore left with two options:

As an added complication; the diesel tax will increase by 50 ØRE PER LITER from 1 January 2025.
2025 WILL BE AN EXCITING – OR RATHER CHALLENGING – YEAR FOR BOTH TRANSPORT PROVIDERS AND BUYERS.
