Parts Express saves over 50% on the maintenance of its buildings, 70% on printing and an average of 30% on other costs.
Parts Express is a logistics company that specialises in fragile and bulky goods. Its head office is located in Vianen, and it has various branches and hubs in the Netherlands and Belgium. Parts Express mainly has regular customers, including a large number of car importers and suppliers of car and truck parts, but also companies in the two-wheeler industry, for example. Parts Express sorts, packs and transports goods day and night and offers a Same Day Express service. The company also stores summer and winter tyres for garages, for example.
Paul Hoogduin contacted Parts Express and the company expressed interest in the ERA Group concept. Hoogduin started the pre-audit in 2013. Parts Express turned out to be a family business that had arranged a lot of 'peripheral matters' ad hoc during its growth, without really having the time or the necessary knowledge to do so. Hoogduin proposed conducting a feasibility study on reducing indirect costs. It soon became clear that significant savings were possible, with the primary focus, of course, being that there would be no compromise on quality. A number of sub-projects were started, some of which Parts Express wanted to do itself.
