NEURA reduces its telecommunications costs by 34 per cent with the help of experts from ERA Group.
NEURA produces state-of-the-art heat pump systems and the associated intelligent control software. NEURA has been one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers in the heat pump market for over 30 years. Founded in 1979, the company was one of the first heat pump manufacturers to also offer planning and installation services. The heat pumps are produced in Pinsdorf, Austria. In 2011, the company also opened a sales office in Germany and has been represented by partners in England and France since 2012. In order to generate internal funds for further expansion, Alexander Nitsch, NEURA CFO, commissioned Dietmar Eder-Dianitsch from ERA Group to analyse and optimise several cost areas. Eder-Dianitsch brought in telecommunications expert Hans-Peter Caesar to work on the telecommunications project.
Until then, the company had five-figure telecommunications costs. According to an analysis by ERA Group, 46 per cent of these costs were attributable to mobile telecommunications. Due to the ongoing termination of existing contracts, there was only a small window of opportunity in which the project could be successfully implemented.
The majority of mobile communication costs were attributable to international calls. In order to achieve the best result for NEURA, ERA Group issued a call for tenders and invited other telecommunications providers to participate alongside the existing service provider. As a result of this tender, NEURA reduced its telecommunications costs by 34 per cent. The savings on international calls were disproportionately high, accounting for 30 per cent of the total savings. The Smart Mobile Option developed by ERA Group reduced the costs for international calls by 80 per cent.
Alexander Nitsch, NEURA CFO, was very satisfied with the result: "The process was very cleanly set up and very well documented. Our needs were addressed very well, and the tender and supplier selection were professional and effective. In addition, the collaboration worked smoothly. All in all, it was definitely a successful project with results that pay off."
