1992

Founded - Fred Marfleet

Founded by Fred Marfleet in 1992, ERA began as a small consultancy with a training-focused model designed to help organizations manage third-party costs and supplier relationships. That early emphasis on disciplined delivery and practical outcomes still shapes how we work today.

2010

Network scales globally

By 2010, Expense Reduction Analysts had scaled into a recognised international network - operating in 25+ countries with 650+ consultants. The model combined local, senior expertise with shared methods and knowledge, enabling clients to access deeper category insight and stronger supplier negotiation.

2024

Rebrand to ERA Group

In June 2024, Expense Reduction Analysts rebranded to ERA Group - reflecting a broader mission: cost optimization, supply chain consulting, and actionable business insight. The network continues to deliver “Value through Insight™”, supporting organizations across six continents with expertise spanning 50+ cost categories.

2025

Investment fuels growth

In May 2025, Horizon Capital took a majority stake and committed £70m to support ERA Group’s next phase - accelerating innovation and technology, expanding into new markets, and pursuing strategic acquisitions. It’s a milestone that strengthens our ability to deliver value through our 1,000+ global specialist network.
