Heinrich Kühlmann GmbH & Co KG in Rietberg is one of Germany's leading delicatessen manufacturers and the market leader in the "fresh antipasti" sector. To drive innovation, the company has a 2,000 m² development centre where it develops both commercial and its own brands. The family-run company has more than 600 employees in three factories and generates annual sales of €240 million.

Kühlmann was faced with steadily rising costs in the area of waste disposal. In view of the great complexity and the expected high time expenditure, the company commissioned Kirsten Mißfeld and Dr Reinhard Rolf from ERA Group to investigate this area. Mißfeld and Rolf brought in expert Eiko Fischer to assist with the project.
