The Toník Foundation handed over a check for 30;000 to the family of Péťa Jochec; who has autism. This is part of the proceeds from a crowdfunding campaign launched on the Darujme.cz donation portal.
The family will use the contribution to pay for daily transport to the day care center; where Péťa is looked after by a personal assistant. This is a great help for his mother Soňa; who; in addition to her son; also cares for her young healthy daughter and her mother; who has Alzheimer's. She also has to manage everything that other women do – dealing with the authorities; visiting doctors; shopping; cooking; taking care of the household...
"Believe me; the help with transport has helped me not only situationally; but also mentally. Now I can go for surgery knowing that my family has money for petrol and I can relax;" said Mrs Jochecová.
In less than a month; the campaign for autistic Péťa Jochec received 254 shares; 265 likes and CZK 30;579 from 40 donors. "It's fantastic that most of the donors were people who were moved by the story of the Jochec family without knowing them personally. We are also hearing from corporate donors offering further assistance;" says Eva Vrzalová; a member of the Toník board of directors and a partner in the ERA Group network; under whose auspices the fund was established.
The crowdfunding campaign will run on the Darujme.cz portal until mid-December. "We will distribute all the funds raised to other families in need;" adds Eva Vrzalová.
The theme of the campaign is motorcycles. "Péťa is fascinated by motorcycles. He laughs a lot when one overtakes us and makes a specific sound;" his mother Soňa revealed earlier; thus deciding on an idea to at least partially fulfill Péťa's dream and help the family cope with the situation. The illustration was created by artist Jan Laštovička; and the campaign is being managed and communicated by the e.vox agency.
The Toník Endowment Fund was established in early September 2016. The primary mission of the endowment fund is to support children who; due to the serious illness of themselves or their parents; are unable to lead a full social life for financial reasons; or who have increased financial costs for medical aids or treatments that give them a better chance of living a more fulfilling life. Its founders are partners of the ERA Group.
