Eva Linares has been a partner at ERA Group since 2021, based in the Barcelona office. With a background in tourism spanning 30 years, she brings a strong client-facing and service-oriented perspective to complex industrial and manufacturing environments.
Her recent client story centres on a long-established, family-run German manufacturing group specialising in high-quality trailers. With operations dating back to 1892 and a global footprint of around 85 companies, the organisation operates across multiple European manufacturing sites, including Germany, the UK, Lithuania, and Spain, where its largest factory is located.
The CEO approached ERA Group with a clear challenge. While the company excelled at manufacturing and operational efficiency, there was limited visibility and structure around wider cost areas. Like many fast-moving industrial organisations, they faced supply chain pressures, compliance complexity, and constraints in time and internal resources.
As Eva explains, “they are very efficient in what they do, but they don’t have the resources, knowledge, or time to look at everything outside their core operations.”
From the outset, the engagement was structured around collaboration with ERA Group’s category experts, who brought deep market knowledge and specialised insight across different spend areas. Together, the team designed a tailored programme across 13 projects, focused on both immediate savings and longer-term improvements in cost control.
The initial objective was set at €1.1 million in savings—but as the work progressed, results exceeded expectations. Across categories, outcomes ranged from modest efficiency gains of around 2% to transformational improvements of up to 85% in areas such as telecommunications.
Beyond direct savings, the engagement also helped the client improve internal processes. In outsourcing and procurement, for example, the team introduced better visibility and control over purchasing decisions, enabling the organisation to manage and understand its spend more effectively.
Specific categories such as tyres also delivered strong results, with approximately 20% savings achieved in a core operational area. Following this success, the client expanded the scope further, asking ERA Group to support sourcing in raw materials, including metals used in trailer production.
For Eva, the strength of ERA Group lies in its ability to combine expertise with adaptability. By tailoring each project to the client’s needs and drawing on specialist knowledge across the network, the team is able to deliver both flexibility and measurable impact.
As she puts it, “we bring a lot of expertise and we can tailor solutions to the client—we all work together as a team focused on the same result.”
Her story reflects how deep industry knowledge, structured execution, and collaborative teamwork can transform a complex global manufacturer’s cost base while also improving long-term operational clarity.
